MLP Professional Encoder Software

Meridian Lossless Packing, or MLP, is a lossless audio coding scheme using proprietary technology developed by Meridian Audio and its associates. It was mandated for use in DVD-Audio and is a key component of Blu-ray Disc as part of Dolby TrueHD.

Meridian offers a Windows-based Professional MLP Encoder for DVD-Audio applications. This encoder can create content 100% compliant with the DVD-Audio specification and can also be used for applications such as Archive. Under the GUI the user can organize workflow for encoding, downmixing, checking and decoding MLP streams. The encoder combines up to 6 channels (including mixed-rate and scalable content). Sample rates between 44.1kHz and 192kHz with word sizes up to 24-bit are accommodated. Each encoder is individually serial numbered and provides full content tracking through the use of MLP's metadata capacity.

Visit the MLP Encoder Download Page (Link to the left of this page) to download the manual and a DVD-Audio Project Calculator spreadsheet. You can also buy the Encoder from Meridian by using the PDF order form provided.

Other MLP-based products are available from Dolby Laboratories as part of Dolby TrueHD.
